Why natural clothes are better for you and your children

Natural linen fabrics - by

Clothes are made from all kinds of materials – cotton, wool, linen, polyester, etc. Some of these materials are natural, some of them synthetic, and some of them – part natural and part synthetic. There are a lot of opinions on which ones are better, but we tend to think that the clothes made from natural fabrics stand out against the ones made from synthetic materials. Here are some of the reasons why:

Style. Natural fabrics never go out of style. Take a natural woolen sweater from the 80’s, match it with something that is considered stylish right now, and you’ll look great! Even the fashion industry is going green because of the recent increase in eco-awareness by using more and more natural materials. So natural fabrics are always stylish, and, step by step, they are becoming a trend in fashion!

Comfort. Clothes made from natural materials are known for being much more comfortable than their synthetic counterparts. Linen, for example, gives the wearer a feeling of freshness and freedom even on a hottest summer day – a feeling no synthetic material can provide. The natural fabrics are usually softer and just nicer to wear.

Durability. Clothes made from synthetic materials tend to wash out and change shape after a couple of rides in the washing machine. There should be no such problem when washing clothes made from good quality natural fabrics. A well-tailored linen or woolen garment can be worn for years.

Health. There are a lot of people who are allergic to chemical residues left on the synthetic materials. Of course, there are some people who are allergic to certain natural fabrics, for example wool, as well, but this number is much lower than the first one. After all, naturally made eco-friendly fabrics will never have a bad effect on your health, while the residues on the synthetic materials can lead to certain illnesses.

Ecology. We have to admit not all of the 100% natural fabrics are made with regard to ecology, but more and more producers choose to make their manufacturing process greener. On the other hand, when we talk about clothes made by craftsmen and folk artists, we can be sure that those were made with care to our nature.

Child-friendliness. All the above reasons make the natural fabrics much more friendly to children than the synthetic materials. They are more comfortable, durable (!) and have no negative impact on health – that’s the most important things for clothes made for children. And if you look around, you can find a lot of clothes that also look great and are eco-friendly.
